Directory submission is still counted on google?

Directory links sitill work, but if the links are from such directories which are not even crawled in google then you will get nothing as a backlinks from google.
I have seen that MSN search engine gives good weightage to Web Directory links.

Directory submission is first step to get world's know about your website. Google weight more on back link. If back link come from directory then it will also count. But matter is from which directory it will come.. Today all search engine algorithm look more then anchor text. it look for page title, your link place on that page, from site where link is come it is hub or not, which is the theme of website and many more.. It's true that google give very low link juice if it will be come from directory, but it's not right for all directory. Specific category according your website theme, high pr directory give good pr juice as well as SERP boost..

 

Yes, Directory submissions are still good to increase traffic and page rank - I got page rank 1 for my two sites after submitting my websites in directories.

 

directory works but may be takes time to approve ..results appears after some months.
