Directory Submission is Necessary for Ranking?

I am in the position 5 in google.com SERP, but I want to up position 1 or 2. Can directory submission will help for ranking? Because I have not submitted any directory submission till now. I am doing other link building. Is it necessary to do? What is your opinion please suggest me…….

I've found that you can bump up from page 2 to page 1 with some general directory submissions. In your situation, you should start with niche directories. They will give you some focused and related links back to your site and should improve your SERPs. Once you're done with that then take a little time every day and submit to a few general directories. Over time it helps.

 

It depends on directories. Some are very beneficial. So, as for me I submit regularly - app. 20 per month.

there are many other link building methods aside form directory submissions. you can utilize any method(s) of your choice but that would depend on your competition. if you are in a very competitive niche, then you can utilize all the backlinks that are available for you out there. so directory submission can help you out in that situation. this is also an easy way to get some backlink to your site

 

i would suggest you to submit in directories as it helps for good backlinks and it will also help you in increasing your PR. but submit it in high PR directories and also which is very good. It will not help immediately but ya over a period it will sure help you...

 

Ehh... I have always done directory submission for my clients, but it really isn't a huge deal like it used to be....
I would say link to whatever relates to your content. That will produce the best results.

Also, lookup the SILO method. It has done very nicely for my websites!
Its just basically a way to organize your website so Google can index it more easily, faster, and without indexing duplicate content.

 

As years pass by, directories became ineffective and obsolete to SER. I don't think it will be a huge factor that will boost you up to number 1 position.

I believe links from directories can also help for your ranking, but make sure you add to the quality directories like YAHOO business directories, and also it will takes times to ranking also you have submitted your sites

 

It depends on the quality or popularity of the web directories. The sub-pages of directories often don't have PR. So it's useless and won't affect your ranking at all.
