Directory submission for SEO. Still good?

Hi all,

Is directory submission still working? I mean both paid and free submissions.

From my recent readings, I am getting an idea that google is getting strong against paid links. So I guess paid directory submissions also come in this category. (Google hates yahoo directory too?)

Please share thoughts.

 

Google basically is moving more and more towards genuine links promoting genuine interest. Naturally occurring links are currently the best thing. Other backlinks are slightly beneficial but not work investing much time and effort in.

You may as well submit your website to the main directories, but dont go overboard with them.

 

lukefowell89 is right, don't spend money on paid directories. They may give you a backlink in the overall count, but it's weight doesn't mean much.

 

Directory submission is still matters & good some what. However, don't go for paid links search engines that much of links. If you wish to pay go for Pay Per Click like Google Adsense.

 

I dont think paid ones are worth it. I wouldnt do it for my forum but that is me.

 

i believe thats not a big deal if you get pr2 backlink in just 10 dollar from paid Directory

 

I am using Robosoft for that purposes, not perfecet results, but still gives me some extra traffic + some backlinks
