Is it advisable to submit my 2 day old site to more than 5000 directories at once ? will it effect the sites performance ?

In my opinion you won't even find 5000 directories to approve your site.
Start submitting to all decent directories you can find, just make sure to rotate title and description from time to time.

It's questionable whether directory submissions affect any site's performance any more. With a new site you might not see much benefit, with an older site you might see more but you are unlikely to see any sizeable increase in performance.

If you can find 5000 directories, most of them (more than 90%) are likely to be of low-quality in that the majority of the inner pages won't be in Google's main index. If your link ends up on a page that isn't in the main index, the link won't count in any case. As Zexy said, even if you submit to 5000, you won't get 5000 acceptances.

When I first set up a site I made the mistake of buying a 1000 directory submission package with 5 title/ description variations. It was a great service, professionally delivered, but with hindsight I'd probably have been better spreading the submissions over a few months and increasing the number of variations of titles and descriptions as I found out which keywords worked and didn't work for my sites.

Depends what type of site it is, im beginning to wonder with say a blog and it being a site thats meant to be updated often, can it be too early to start submitting? i think thats possible.

If its a 5 page site that will not be updated again then maybe get busy because nothing else is going to be added to it.

5k directories at once sounds like a junk service that wont give you that at all to be honest.

Your concern should be with how many different titles would be allowed.

I submit a blog to directories and in the category i see a related site that has used the same one word title in all submissions, its a UK site so i had a little look to see if its ranking for that keyword and its not, its not a brand new site either, got pr but i dont think the person submitting understands that he/she should be using different keywords in the title instead of the same one.

Good plan... Make sure to use directory submission tracking, makes it easier. :) There is one on www.easysubmits.com, but you can do it manually with the excel spreadsheets or some other method as well. :)

It's impossible mission and waste your time,
Try to choose some quality and seo friendly directories, but not 5000 useless or worthless directories.

I think even you submit to say 1000 directories, they are not going to approve you at once unless and until they approve it automatically.

So i do not think any problems with that..
