Directory submisions still worth it?

I am getting the feeling the directory submisions are loosing their touch. Too many links, too many pages... how much of an SEO impact can you get from this?

Let me know your thoughts...

 

Ya, If you can find a quality directory which is giving you fast approval and the pages are not too spammy, That is really helpful. But it is hard to find such a directory.

 

Free Directories are not passing much link juice... the link will be from the very deep page.. So while index the link Google not giving much value.. some time not indexing the link . So according to my experience do not waste much time on directory...

 

Yes, it is still good if only the directory is quality directory

 

it is good if the directory is a human edited directory.

 

If you can find or create a bot to do it for you, I'd say it's definitely worth the time of setting up, but if you have to manually do it over and over it's a waste of time compared to the things you could do in the time instead.

 

i hate to ask such a noob question but im just starting out and looking for as much info as i can find and i was wondering if someone could point out what i should be looking for (what are the signs to show a directory is a quality directory)?

 

Google is not even indexing links from Directories anymore... But if you can find autority directories where you can place a link, I think it's still helpful

 

Its depend on their mood. They can do rejecting the website without any possible reason.

It DOES still index links in Directories. Last week it indexed 500 links in my directory and last NIGHT it indexed 800 links. Google took a few months to get going but it now appears to love me. It's a niche directory though. Woofahs Pet Directory and only pet related websites accepted.

Directories still have worth.. it would still give you a backlinks...

Directories don't have as great an impact as they used to, but directory links can still be beneficial. Look for high quality directories, or the highest quality you can find anyway, and stay away from auto approve directories.

Directory Submission is still valid if it SEO friendly directory and edited by human, and you need to submit proper category in the directory
