In Past All Seo People did Directory Submission for generating a back links. Title, Description and Keywords are used in in. most of SEO are use same title, description for submission in bunch of directories. should we change the strategy for directory submission? i think Directory Submission is not just for generating a back links but Search engines gather the data form directories and local directories. If we put our business information different in each directory (means unique Title, Description for each directory). Is it correct way for doing better SEO strategy?
There are arguably a few advantages to directory submissions as far as SEO goes. Think of linking c-block and domain variation, different anchor text, and increase in domains linking. Throwing a few directories shouldn't hurt, the only time it can become an issue is when you base your link building strategy around them. Search engines will most likely gather the data from business listing directories (yell, yelp, business.com) over small directories. I don't know how much value there is from that side of things.
In our 8 years experience online we have nnever found web directories of any use, we have never seen any positive movement in any site that we have used this tactic on.
geester1, we know many people are not give importance to directory submission. but there is a proper way to submit a directory. It must be submit in related category of our business and it must be high pr. so you must be get positive results. but here i talking about unique title, description for each directory what are thinking about this strategy? You have very vast exp of SEO so you will be know it.
Yes, changes in your site detail is better than using the same title and description during a long period. Though I think, your url may be stable in your work.
More links mean more word being spread around the world. Before the Google Panda update that was the case, after the update it was noted that the links from directory submissions seemed to have lost their bite in terms of sharing the PR. Now if you submit to a number of high profile directories then maybe it will still work but not for all of them.
Does that mean that the job of directory submitters is in danger? if there is no use of dir submissions, clients won't bother to spend anything on that.
