And just for the record none of the 1,000 or so pages we have are in the supplemental index. If one finds other wise please let me know.

Ok I'm done for the night.

Just keep building it..... It seems that people do value directories more that are not built on the free scripts out there. Get rid of the fade and implement a better site search feature and continue on, a good directory takes time to get established.

I just went to submit a site and noticed that the submission are subscription based..... That is your trouble...... You also do not let people be descriptive with thier anchor text...

These are two things that will deter people from listing sites, just keep that in mind also... If you lighten up on those two things, I think you would get alot more submissions.

    Hello banless
well, to be honest small webmasters would not really spend $10 just for link submission.. if they pay $10 to someone.. then they can submit his/her website to 100 directories and out of 100 atlest i am sure he will get 80 approval out of 80 atleast i suppose 20 may be crawled n it can have a backlink..
so i think small webmasters wouldn't pay $10 just for link..
i think if you lower down the price then they *might* submit but atleast i would not.. do that

Thanx i hope this may help you

I took your advice and removed the fade as well as made it so that people can use keywords in their title tags. Good advise and thanks alot.

As for the price I'm not going to change that, I have too much invested to just give these listing away, if I have to wait for the pr to go higher than so be it, besides $10 is nothing seeing that some directories charge alot more.

Again thanks for all of the replies you guys have been great, I'll keep working to improve it, in the mean time I'll just have to it the old fashion way and call businesses that may looking for a good directory, I'll make more that way.

Thanks again and good luck to all.

$10 is a fair price for a listing, but it comes down to perceived value - if it's seen as a good value you should continue receiving submissions. ;)

    Good luck!

Also keep in mind that your price is fine --- you can even double it, but when it is "subscription based" people will look a little closer...... I'd say your better off doubling the price and leave it a one time payment...
