Hi. I was wondering what you guys thoughts are on this. I want to find a directory script that is not phpLD. Because I already used that. And now I want to try something else. I prefer something that is open/modifiable. Meaning no encoded source. I don't mind paying but I can fork out a hundred bucks just for this. I prefer free if possible. (eDirectory was promission untill I saw the pricetag) I don't mind if it take a whole different approach than phpLD, in fact it is better if it does. I wan to try something different and see how each script approach the problems. I do aware of the differnt kind of scripts available like phplynx, eSyndicate etc etc.. but I want recommendation from people that used it before. In terms of how easy to, say, whip out a module for doing something. Thanks in advanced
personaly i find esyndicat to be very flexible and easy to use with an added bonus of a lot of free mods/plugins. you can try their free version to have a feel of how it work. regards majnoon
I set up phplynx the other day and it was simple and easy to install. So far it has contained everything I've needed.
hmm.. nice.. never heard of it before... template/skin support is rather bad.. but i really like everything else about it... I almost impulse buy it.. but then i saw that it is 20 pounds and not 20 USD
this is a new one to me, dont like the design though, but it seems promising, i might take par tin it.
phplynx will be the ideal solution. they seem like the next generation directory script.I think their owner is a member here.he will be the best man to explain the phplynx features.
phplynx is very good, but you mentioned uncoded, well the full version of phplynx is uncoded but the free version remains coded at present. the full version is on $55 & $30 more if you want to remove the back link, information can be found here http://phplynx.com thanks aubenrey
I seem to remember a member here was trying to come up with a complete list of all the directory scripts. You might want to search through the forums for the conversation about it. Sorry, can't remember who it was.
For your information Anon, his orignal post stated uncoded, someone else mentioned phplynx, I just verified the free version is NOT unencoded, what wrong with that. Thanks aubenrey
Original poster acknowledges the script you mentioned, and specifically states that fact. What he asked for, from those who use it is: recommendation from people that use 'In terms of how easy to, say, whip out a module' etc I am just pointing out what was asked by the OP. But you know what, rather than try and help the OP, carry on with your commercial. ahmadfarhan, try giving this a review: http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Link_Indexing/index.html There are a lot more to look at out there.
So again the minute someone mentions phplynx he / she gets slated. Whats up now you got Jamie banned you moving on to the other phplynx users or what?
ummm, nobody is slating anyone here. If you read the First Post, rather than trying to commercialize you would have understood his question, concern and what he truly wanted as far as information goes. Can you stay on topic please. If you need to post one last time to feel good about yourself saying the last word, then that is fine with me. Just as long as the topic stays intact and the thread servers the OP's interest just like my post did.
you mean this maybe? http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=55170 I doubt that the 2 years effort is ever going to see the light of day .. no offense to the owner of the thread.
Hmm, I thought it was more recent than that one. If I get a chance in the morning I'll look around for you.
