@Dog, because if he sells for $8k he can spend that $8k on his new site rather than just spending $800/month on it.
Why bother finding out, surely it's obvious why it hasn't sold. -- nobody wants it. Also these things never last long as whoever takes it on will get bored shortly afterwards and jack it in, for something that gives financial gain. Hence Directoryrate being sold..........
Hi Guys, Just caught this thread The site was sold privately so the auction was cancelled, many thanks for all the nice comments (and the not so nice ones), I put a lot of work into the site and in many ways am sad to see it go, I just have another project I want to focus on both time wise and financially so it made sense to sell up. The new owner is established in the directory business and I'm sure will push the site to its full potential. Thanks again to all those who supported Directory Rate through the last 18 months, and I hope you continue to support the site in the future, I'm sure the new owner has lots of great plans for it. Onwards and upwards
Pleased you got a buyer, good luck with your new project. I'm interested in advertising there and will be keeping my eye on it Is the new owner known on these forums?
Congrats indeed, although I'm unsure what more can be done to rate directories, it's pretty much been done to death hasn't it. Judging by the ones now asking who the new owner is, there could be disbelief it's even been sold. This kind of thread happens all the time and often it's for self-promotion purposes. Interesting......
Someone was kind enough to leave me this message: I may be a noob here - but I'm a no noob on the web. And who gives stuff about post count, it's about as worthless as pagerank Just like your pathetic dig at me - just pointless. hehehehe
A reciprocal link from an off-topic domain doesn't really help much. You should approve the website only if you think it deserves a place in your directory.
Well you guys just got it all figured out dont ya... We just sold one of ours and it took almost the entire month to new owner but we ended up getting full price of what we asked... Why did we sell it? none ya.... dam business If its his time to cash out then so be it... and good luck with the sell.. laterz malcolm
Sorry i never knew that once your "in" you cant get out lol you guys make it sound like you cant sell a web property anyway if its sold ... good luck to the new owner laterz malcolm
Yes, me too — we've been advertising on them this month. Heard that the new over will be introducing themselves shortly.
Hey all — has anybody heard from Directory Rate? We're advertising on their now, and all is well and good. However, I'm having a hard time getting my site listed though. Was wondering if anybody has had any luck. It's been a couple of weeks now.
This would be a good time for the buyer to announce himself with the interest from the sale. I'm interested in advertising on the site but would like to hear from the new owner.
DirectoryRate seems dead... I've been emailing a couple of times because I haven't received any new reviews since months while on occasion (couple of times a week) people email me telling they reviewed my directory. But I haven't heard back on any of the emails. I think that's just horse crap. My visitors are kind enough to spent their time reviewing my directory. But DirectoryRate doesn't publish the reviews! (don't know if they're positive reviews ofcourse, but I expect so, otherwise they prolly wouldn't email me about it). Does any one know of a review site that actually works?
