I thought I would share this. Of course I just noticed it today. But it looks like my directory index-it.net has now reached #4 on msn for the main keyword of the site. MSN - keyword= internet web directory The site was launched in June 2006. I'll be honest and say that although I optimized the site for that keyword, I was not expecting to see it climb that fast even on msn. Was wondering why 26% of my traffic was coming from msn, now I know.
Use the link in the post above, it will take you right to the page. Does msn have alot of datacenters like google? If so then you may get different results. The site that ranks is index-it.net
That is strange, everytime I go to msn and type that keyword in I see the site, can not understand why you guys can not see it.
well, even if you get that ranking for a new site like that, expect it to be found nowhere in the next few months....msn works that way, my friend!
I see what is going on now. looks like when I do a search straight from msn.com I get the results where the site ranks #4 when I do a search from live.com the site does not show up at all. Interesting, never new microsoft was runing 2 different search engines.
This is just a theroy, but do you think that because I am in seattle with microsoft right down street, is it possible that the information that I am getting is coming from the datacenters in seattle and has just not hit the rest of the datacenters yet.
Hmm could be a possibilty. But when you search through MSN you stay on msn servers and the url doesn't change to live.com?
When I search on msn.com and hit enter it takes me to search.msn.com http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=internet+web+directory&FORM=MSNH which is the same link that I posted earlier, but for some reason you guys are getting different results.
