Niche directory is better or general directory is better? What you guys n gal think. If you have a directory, would you like to have general directory or a niche directory? (for example Real estate niche).
hmm I would go with niche directory since there are so many general directories these days you wouldnt have much chance! You could create a collection of niche directories or have a sub domain for each niche
Well it depends. A niche' based directory certainly has its advantages in that it offers a more concentrated area in which to direct your focus. Depending on the niche' you can have quite a success. This is not to say that a general directory could not offer just as much success. Ultimately what is "better" when it comes to a directory is a directory owner committed to keeping their site up to date and devoid of dead or crappy links.
maybe it is better to find a niche you are interested and also familiar with, IMO. there are already too many general directories, to succeed you need a lots of effort, building brand, PR, traffic,,, Both are not easy for sure.
Niche directories are good for now. Everybody is dumping their old general directories and creating new niche directories. Wait for year or so, Google will punish them and they will lose value too.
