Directory Pet Peeves - from directory owners

I have been kind of hard on directory owners lately so lets try to even the score. I think submitters and owners would both be be better off if submitters know a bit about the directory process.

    • Directory submitters would have a better chance of having their submissions approved.
    • Directory owners should have better quality directories and would have to spend less time approving/rejecting submissions.

I have created a quick list of things that directory owners don't peticuarly like: Directory Submission - Owner Pet Peeves

I don't personally own a directory so I would appreciate any imput from directory owners.

I would imagine that directory owners get a lot of people bitching about PR.

"I want my money back! Your PR went from 6 to 5!"

Spelling - People need to ensure that the spelling is right prior to submitting.

Without doubt in my mind is not reading the guidelines, FFS it is simple it says USE THE OFFICIAL TITLE OF YOUR SITE. what do they use? keyword keyword keyword keyword. What do I do? delete it without a second thought.

I often alter titles to help with SEO if the submission is good. I will often change a title like 'peter samson and company' to Peter Sampson & Co Keyword suppliers'

Try finding a category for www.internationaladoptionstories.com

not only is it a painfully long name, but the "family" directory is always left off.

Not a bad idea. Thing is though, the submitters who choose to ignore the submission guidelines will be the same people who skim over these details.
