At last a realistic post When you create a star out of nothing the best way to put this nothing back in the box is to stop posting threads etc etc The guy is a nothing always was a nothing and always will be a nothing Lets get back to reality folks
Mike- I think it is trackback or blog feeds -- I am not sure. But why worry. We should get that Rand -- for spamming the web at the expense of directories.
it idenifies the post as spam. If people here choose to spam, their posts should be disregarded. This thread is not an Amit Patel type "let's spam my link" thread. It's a serious discussion, and that is what it should stay. Mike
If you consider that spam, maybe you should report it, your are free to, I just showed him that it was blogged about, and if you know anything I used the Blog About It! link from the digg submission.
Mike -- most probably you got it wrong. I think it is DIGG culture --that Sasa was following. If one like a story --they can blog about it. Just checked DIGG records and it says --Sasa has gladly blogged about the story.
Ya right you are , we'd better forget him , his ps tool (crap things) and rather use our times in some other good works for us and our clients and I would request Jeff to consider to rebuild his strongest directory list considering different methodolies, parameters forgeting the fulty ps philosophy
Just to bring out the point that he meant or context he used it as,when he pointed your name out.....
We need to ask Minstrel, Anthony Cea and John Scott for both of them . They are the best source of Reference.
Is the PS tool the main reason why he is upset with directories? I never used this tool - I never understood why so many (even top directories) were promoting this tool as reliable measurement. If there is fix for it, I would have seen it long time ago. Don't you think?
jhnrang I just love reading your posts. I just read it completely along with a big long thread at v7n forum. (I was not well before so wasn't able to complete it) I will just like to say, Rand needs to get back in his senses before its too late. If we follow his theory of "Determining Value" then I guess if someone starts a directory with title "Shut the Fuck up bitch - Directory", he will rank on #1 for more than 4 combinations of his title without doing much. How much "value" it will give?? To me, PS is only important when I think of Jeff list of strong directories as I will like to be up on that list. Other than that, I don't really see any use of it. So, if he talks about Aviva with his "expert" views about ranking in G, he should know the day Jeff went for any other tool, there will be NO reference to PS in this forum.
Thanks a lot that you liked my post and I can tell ya - I am not Rand. what I wrote there-- I backed up every point/every word with proofs from authoritative sources. But I must acknoledge Mr. Rand's technique of getting visitors. He creates controversies and that made him notorious ( sorry rand you are not famous in any imagination- if I am wrong -pls read the sources I cited). I think the WWW is getting more sophisticated and surfers are getting more net savvy. So he has to change his tactics to keep his reputation of being a celebrity.
Absolutely! His biased blog posts incresed his Alexa Ranking and may be few more subscription for broken PS tool.
This whole thing brings memories of OZ and "Ignore the man behind the curtain". Can't figure why he would so badly bite the hand that feeds his business. In what is either a poor attempt to dis-educate his potential SEO customers or a clever link bait gambit; he has only managed to hurt his credibility and further expose that his PS tool should have had another letter in the name - "O".
Sorry, but I think he makes a very good point. Directories have thousands of outgoing links. Instead of paying $50 for a listing on such a directory. I'd much rather spend that on targeted traffic.
Thousands of outgoing link on a page ?? Would you mind sharing a single example .... I always thought that "outgoing links" matters (counted) w.r.t. page you are listing on and not to the whole domain. (If thats what u mean)
