If your using PayPal to accept payments for your directory submissions, do you pay a fee (premiere or business accounts) or not (personal accounts)? Is it wiser to pay the fee? In the long run, would it beneficial? If PayPal ever sees you accepted payments from strangers for 5,000 plus sites, will they ever want to intervene and attack you with some "gambling policy violation"? Or would they realize what your doing is a business and require you to upgrade? Does anyone know its a rule that you have to upgrade to a business account in order to accept listings for your site?
lol you cannot accept credit card if you are not ugpraded to premier ... and if you dont accept credit card you are putting your self through alot of loss, and premier account charge fees so i dont mind paying it because i am getting the bigger part.
I didn't know i didn't have to pay a fee.... or had a choice... I believe if you pay someone and say it was a service rather then goods then you can save that person a few cents or bucks depending on amount. thx Malcolm
It was question that I was going to ask!!! At least I knew that there was a no fee account. But how many people use credit card? Can we tell if that person used a paypal account or creditcard?
if your accepting money for services or goods or anything you have to pay the fee, or paypal will shut your account down and use your money to add a new wing to there building. the fee is not much, but if you are only selling something worth a buck, they get like 35 cents.
Sure buddy go right ahead.... If you only have them your asking for problems Do what im doing and offer many payment choices.... thx malcolm
You know I asked 5 people on MSN the very same question, and only 1 said they paid a fee. Poll results as of now is totally opposite. lol you can check their payment method inside your PayPal transaction history area. So I guess those who don't pay a fee, accept only instant payments from PP balance or eChecks.
I have a business account and yes, I pay fees. The thing is you must have a business account to accept C/C purchases. I'm sure many people fund their purchases with a C/C so why limit you payment options. Additionally, I make most of my transactions with my PayPal debit card. I choose this as my primary funding source rather that my PayPal balance ( the money comes from the same place) because I get 1% cash back each time i use it....hey every little bit helps
paypal cuts some money for the premier accounts, and most of the directory owners has paypal premier account,
Yup we have to pay them As we own either premier accounts or business accounts, in which payments from CC are also accepted. In personal accounts, payments directly from CC are not accepted.
I think theres no fee for accepting payments if you have a personal account. But if your a business or premiere account then it automatically deducts it. I could be wrong though..........
for getting funds in personal account, there is no fee.. right. But there are disadvatages of it : --You can only accept 5 credit card payments / year to a personal account --If some body send payment from different currency, like if your account in US$ and the payer sents you in pounds, you cannot accept payment.
Business and Premier here. Before going to that you have to have a Bank Account and CC to back it up. Let's say my paypal account dries up and my subscriptions or I would like to buy a nice link, though no money on Paypal Account its no problem it will be deducted from the backups instantly. One of my account has CC as backup which I tried to buy something when there was no money in the Paypal Account and I was using another computer. I purchased a $200 item. Then 5 minutes later American Express and Paypal was on the phone VERIFYING the PURCHASE. Nice Service. Here all currency accepted, the bank does the conversion.
