Hi, The other day, while searching I came across a site where some similar site owners have got together, which has boosted their traffic,(shown on stat counters), and probably income as well and I am sure Page rank as well. Am thinking of applying the same on our directories. You , me and all others with directories! This is more of a reciprocal program, but very controlled, with quality similar sites, and still works almost on auto pilot. Only 1 man works monitoring quality, all reap the benefit. It's free by the way! Maintaining quality: Anyone who wants to participate, provides their link text and URL. Then the 1 working man based on the quality of the site decides whether they participate, or not. Simple approval. See guidelines below. Every signup is provided with a special URL used to keep the tracking for the automation. I did a script to manage all this. Now when someone on your directory submits a site, after successful submission, all you have to do is suggest this url and ask them to submit their as well. (They need not actually submit...) And you can stop anytime at your own free will. This is where the fun, income and benefit starts!!! : When they click that url, you get points. They need not submit, just visit the site and you still earn points! Every point moves you up in the member list. A specified number of sites make it to home page, with a SEO friendly link, (top members). Others make it to more members page, which is also seo friendly. Doesn't matter if you have zero points. All pages only 2 clicks from home page. At the time of submitting your URL, you can also suggest a title text for the link with your most important keywords in link text. Visitors coming to the suggested site above see all these participating sites, which are all very similar, in our case DIRECTORIES, which they want to submit to. That's your directory we are talking about!!! You get a new visitor for free. Then you can also have other income options on your sites like affiliate offers, PPC ads, products, other than paid submission alone. Basically try and get the most out of the system with each extra visitor you, me and all directory owners are getting! Take time understanding this. You get a SEO friendly link from a "very closely similar site" (could be from homepage), you get visitors "without spending money", you probably will make more money with the way "you have choosen to capitalize on extra traffic". All this 100% free! No work on your part, excepting filling the signup form and pasting a 1 line code somewhere on your directory, or suggesting it after you have recieved their submission and they are about to close the browser window, just then... Even if they do not submit after clicking that URL, you still get the points you need to get to top positions. It's completely free, No catch at all. (It's under the heading "Directory club") Guidelines for Quality and fast approval: Please make a post in this thread, so I know that the submission is from DP and take care of approvals. Best signup with your DP username. Please submit family friendly Directories only. Directories with gambling, poker, adult and similar sites won't make it. Please submit directory sites which are complete directories only. A directory installed in a sub folder will not make it through the submission form. Should be a subdomain at least. Should be an active directory, meaning you must still be taking submissions. Doesn't matter if paid only. (Income sources are your own choice.) Google Toolbar must show some PR. If you have not yet got PR, At least some of your pages must be cached by google and must match what I see when approving. This is to make sure that your site is not hit by a penalty or something.
