Directory Owners: How Often Do You Backup?

Sorry if this was posted before, I couldn't find it in search so Ill start a topic.

How often do you backup your directories?

I backup daily or as much as I can now, because link submissions have increased to at least 100 per day now (not all at once but through all the day all together), and I can't afford to lose all those links.

Since it happened to me before, I've learned my lesson. :(

Yeah, at least once a day, in your case.

I actually backup less often, but always if someone starts a thread like yours or complaining for having lost the database contents!

Otherwise more or less every week, but I have a niche with much less submissions (BTW, if interested, get a link from my SEO directory for free, if yours is SEO friendly and isn't already listed)

    :)

Go to the backup page in your cpanel and upload the backups from your computer.

How often do I back up? Well, everytime some ones posts one of those sob stories of how they lost their entire database, I usually do a backup.

Nope. After all, I said that I did do some backups. Every week or so I backup all my databases. My directories are paid though, and I have records and receipts of all my submissions, if I did lose a weeks worth of listings. The guys running free directories and getting hundreds of submissions a day should obviously backup every chance they get.

If I was to backup every 10 submissions that means I would be going to the backup page every 2 minutes. I run a free submissions directory, going paid when next pr update comes around..

Weekly via cron, a 120mb (ish) database is a lot to loose.
