Directory Owners, have the same problem?

Do other directory owners have the same problem I'm having. It seems that I am getting more and more submissions into featured categories, but the people submitting are not completing the transaction, ie paying.

I didn't know if this was a sign of automatic submission bots, or some other sort of problem. Or maybe just people thinking they would be sneaky...hard to say.

I was just curious if anyone else was having this problem.

It's just someone after submitting and being directed to the secure paypal payment page, not completing payment for whatever reason. The directories of mine that are paid only do get one two a day that submit without paying, but I wouldn't consider it a big problem or hassle. And no one is going to slip one by you. You should have a paypal receipt emailed to you for every listing that has paid.

Or... set up your directory so that nothing gets listed until you have confirmation of payment (hint: phpLD).

Nothing gets listed until I have payment and reviewed the site. And to be honest, it's not that big of a deal, just seemed to be happening more frequently as of late.

Of course there will always be people who backout at the last second for whatever reason. I get about 2 or 3 of them daily but I don't even bother reviewing them until I recieve a payment. If no payment comes through I just decline them from being listed.

A lot of directory submissions are entirely automated, or sem-automated in that they are subcontracted to outsourcers who use very junior staff just to fill in forms without actually reading anything about the submission rules.
