Directory Owners - eBay Stores

A question for all you directory owners:

I usually reject submissions for sites that only exist to re-list eBay items. However, I have a submission that I'm trying to decide what to do with. It's a link directly to an eBay store. First time I've got one of these. Currently, my submission guidelines don't explcitly say anything about eBay stores.

I wondering what everyone else would do with submissions such as these.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I'm a pretty new directory owner, and it helps a great deal to see what other people are doing. Nice site.

I used to run a niche eBay shop directory; that is until the day that their seriously heavy weight lawyers found I'd registered a domain with the word 'ebay' in the domain name.

You don't want to go there - it was a major slap as in, "We think you probably made as mistake doing this, however, unless you take down the site now, we'll we take further action." The 'take further action' part was not pleasant...

milesbparty... I submitted my Ebay store to you for consideration.

I get rejected by some directory owners who consider this a deep link or just don't like ebay stores for whatever reason. Nowadays it's harder and harder to just turn sales from ebay visitors alone so I look to search engines now to help me out with driving some sales. I don't think there is anything bad about ebay stores but obviously I am a little biased :)

Thank you for asking this question. I had a site claim to be the "world's largest supplier of xyz". While they did fit into my niche, the site simply listed every auction item related to xyz. It was easy to delete considering they were also on the edge of breaking one of my submission requirements.

In the future, I will look at these sites a bit harder as I don't see anything wrong with a store owner simply trying to promote their shop. On the other hand the folks who are trying to profit off of someone else's listing are another story and will continue to get their submission deleted.

I think this is the right response. Affiliates, like BANS sites, I'd throw in the bin but a genuine eBay store owner is just a regular ecommerce site trying their best to promote their store.

without the actual link, its hard to tell. Decide yourself, as its your directory.

I wish more directory owners would take this philosophy, an ebay store is no worse than a regular ecommerce site... Truth be told most directory owners today have been very good about it and accept my store but there are still quite a few who state it in their submission guidelines that they don't accept ebay stores... One time I saw that the directory owner did not accept ebay stores but in their active listings they had sites for make growth enhancement pills and gambling sites... is an ebay store worse than those????

I think you need to take each site as it comes. I would be more likely to reject a site where a stick template was used or little or no unique content had been added.
