Directory owners are bone idle when it comes to descriptions.

    If someone takes so very little pride in their site that they can't come up with a 100, 200 or even 500-character description; what's the likelihood that they will maintain a quality site.

    I make allowances for bad grammar(not everyone is a native English speaker) and might add more details, but again if a submitter fails to respect my site and my time - they're not getting anything other than their listing put in the trash can.

    I believe that the whole ¨search engine friendly¨ thing needs to go, you might as well call it ¨links for sale to manipulate your rankings in Google¨.

    If the only thing a directory has that it can market itself is "search engine friendly", I agree it needs to be pinged for the link farm it is.

    why because there should be somewhere for those that can be arsed to submit to for free

    why penalize the good webmasters because of others
