Directory of Directories with 1800 Listings

http://www.web-directories.ws now has over 1800 directories listed. A great resource, especially for niche and regional sites.

If you own a directory, submisssion of your directory is always fast and free.

 

We were over 1900 directories but I cleaned up some of the dead links. Its amazing how fast directory links can change.

I am a General Directory, and my initial submission has been placed properly and accordingly.
However, I would *also* like to be part of the directory of directories.

I hope you don't mind a double submission.

Sorry Rob

The "Directory of Directories" category is reserved for sites that list directory sites only. You can either call yourself a "General Directory" or a "Directory of Directories" but not both.

I run the version 3.02 of the same directory as you. When I tried to submit I get

"The URL could not be validated. Either the page does not exist or the server cound not be contacted."

I have add the same problem with my own directory.

I'd like to submit http://www.caribbeantopselection.com in the Regional/Caribbean category

Dude you gotta fix your script or server settings, this is what happens after few clicks :

http://www.web-directories.ws/%7B$smarty.const.DOC_ROOT%7D/General/Free/%7B$smarty.const.DOC_ROOT%7D/

^^ that means you didnt edit the theme properly or some other script error, if you need help let me know i do themes for php link directory script.

And added my directory site.

 

As you probably know, the "Best of the Web Directories" is part of http://www.best-web-directories.com/. See http://www.best-web-directories.com/listing-howto.htm for information on getting yourself added to the list.

There is a fix on the PHPLD forum to fix your problem. You have to actually make a small fix to your site so that it validates correctly in other directories.

 

It works on my machine. Always wanted to say that.

Seeriously, I have never encountered it. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

 

Just submitted 3 sites with recips. I accidently listed http://www.thewildacres.com/ as free, but it's paid. So if you could move it.

I clicked around on your site for about 20 page views and didn't see a smarty problem.

 

I forgot to ask, will you do a PR update soon? http://www.epooch.com shows no PR, but it's a PR6 site now.

 

I listed your other 2 sites but I'm afraid I never received thewildacres.com. If anyone lies on the form the directory gets automatically purged.

Seriously though, you probably didn't get past the edits for the final submission.

I have ran a PR update not long ago but it appears that the Google PR programs are not showing the latest PR updates. I am not an expert on how these work so I would appreciate any input.

 

All directories have been approved.
