Directory of Directories - free submissions for web directories for 1 week only

ok, I have just deleted many submissions. Some shouldn't have been deleted, but unfortunately there are too many spam directories owned by Dp members. Check if you are in, and if not, please resubmit to the right categories. Sorry to the ones with the good directories.

Once again, I'm adding a lot of good resources myself to it, this is not a spam farm.

If you can't spend the time to work on creating a real dirctory, then don't waste mine!

Your Web Designers Directory is a great example for the kind of directories and niche directories that I´m looking for

 

I have just added my directory under Paid Directories in your list.

 

Submitted a couple, thanks for the opportunity.

What sort of minimum numbers are you looking for, for both niche and general? If you specify this then submitters will be able to avoid wasting your time.

 

I want to submit a few but I am unsure as to whether or not the directories are good enough. A few are relatively new and I will be re-skinning them. I just don't want to waste your time.

 

It really depends, maybe under 250 listings and less than 2 months old is what I definitely consider new.

 

Except that all the links seem to have nofollow...

 

Web Designers Directory is not among those directories that sell PR. It ranks on first page of google for most the keywords people use to find web designers and related services providers. Everyone listed there is happy because it drives 100% targeted traffic that generates sales. I think that’s enough in exchange for a link to the source.

If people get target traffic probably is fair, but you should warn that the links are nofollow it’s my opinion.
Any technical reason for putting all the links nofollow?

 

The webmasters who list their websites are all web designers, SEO Experts, hosting providers, programmers etc and they all know about nofollow. The directory is around since 2004 and you can see that it is still offering free listing. So far, I didn't make any money selling links or offering premium listing etc. Since the directory is reciprocal for the time being, the reason I put a nofollow is that I found majority of webmasters remove the reciprocal link once they get in. Kinda hard for me to check every site. Currently, it is being upgraded to PHPLD so I will be able to nofollow only those links that do not reciprocate.

 

on second thought: I hate putting a number on anything. Some directories have only 80 listings, but you can tell from the design, the kinds of sites listed, etc. that they are going to be around for some time. Then you have directories with over 1,500 listings and most of the sites listed are MFA ones linking back to them. So, that is exactly what I don't want in there.

I want directories that show effort, simple as that. Anon, go ahead and submit yours (use "anon" in the "name" section on the submission form, and I will take a look at them right away )

Got it in, thanks a lot Added Health, Fitness and Well Being, but left yours in the main niche one for now. Btw, what do you guys think of the new look?

I might as well keep this one instead of getting my own design done by the way, I've had some great submissions lately. I have also added a section for other directories of directories. More than anything I would like some feedback now on the usability of www.searchfeature.com/dir
Do you guys think that it is going to be useful for those who want to find the best directories to submit their sites to?

Here is some general feedback:

Priority is being given to niche directories (good ones) as well as general web directories which do offer a truly free option.

 

You plan to add Education as category or sub? I just submitted a Niche directory - should go under education but you don't have the category.
