    Hi all.

If possible, I would like some suggestions and comments on my directory. (Linkspub)

We get good traffic, alot of submissions, but a very small percentage of them are paid.

I was wondering if people could check it out and leave some suggestions here, on what I can do to bring it to the top.

    thx

I wouldn't say I don't love your layout but I wouldn't say I don't like it either. I didn't like the Ads on the top and then "Hello" smack in the center of the screen. I see lot of real-estate is wasted for redundant stuff.

Your most important content is below the fold. I couldn't tell it was a directory at first glance.

Actually the Hello is a part of a module which we are working on.

It will have a greeting in the language of the visitors country.

Meaning if you are browsing from France, it will say 'Bonjour' ....

    Thx for the suggestion.

Does it offer any value to the visitor? And if you want to make money then you can easily write a small snippet in php to work on that module but you don't have to display in such big - like I said, it is wasting your real estate. My point: meat of your site is below the FOLD in other words: you get 2 out of 10.

Well, we get quite a few of visitors a day which just come to check their ip. Not that many sites out there will detect HIDDEN proxies. I mean that is a benefit, I think.

    Also, what does FOLD mean?

I think what your saying is the categories should be Visible as soon as somebody lands on the homepage cause it is a directory. Right?

thx, looking for ALOT of suggestions.

Seems like a lot of un-related stuff all thrown together.

Anything displayed after hitting page down is called below the FOLD. So all your categories, etc. is right now below the FOLD. When people land on your page, offer them useful information, product or whatever. Eg: Ever seen any online store displaying photo of the product at the bottom of the page? NO! Why?
Not necessarily! You should think, what will help my visitors come back - interesting information or just one word "Hello" or "Bon Jour" or "Gutentag" or .....

I would make the bottom part of the site (below the alexa stat graphic) all aligned with the top part (so make it less wide)
