If you submit to a directory for a backlink why does it not show up as one? If it does count as a back link then how long does it take? But if a listing does not count then why even ad links to directorys?
Show up where? Google shows only a very small sample of the total backlinks when using the "link:" prefix. However, if you use Google's Webmaster tools and check your external links then it's likely that your backlink will be found. It's a marathon...not a sprint. Every submission (large or small) is not only another access point to your site but another link as well. Remember, Google doesn't acknowledge all links openly. Yahoo with the "link:" prefix will return better (more thorough) results. Every submission provides the following (for better or not): 1. A link 2. Link reputation 3. Link popularity Not all links will count, not all links will pass juice, and some submissions might be useless and others not. I'm not self promoting...that said, submit to the directories you like and forget about the link count. Just my 2 cents Tim
It depends on where you submit, how quickly you are expecting them to show up and some other factors. Typically newly accepted listings on my site are quickly indexed by search engines some directories will take a little longer and some of the free ones may take months. You need to ask yourself who are you submitting to which you don't mention in your post.
It hows up but depends on the directory how ofen is submited etc And olsocheck backlinks with yahoo as google updates backlinks once 3-4 months + shows only 1%of them ...
