Directory Links are not found in Google webmaster ?

    I have made many Directory link submission for may site for back linking. but when i checked in Google webmaster tool. No dir links there. Does Google Stop giving importance to Directory submission for SEO ?

    How long have you been doing the directory submission maybe google haven't index it yet.

    You need to know the fact that G only shows up important links and not all the links. I am talking in case if you are using link:www.---.com command to find out backlinks. Instead, you can use other tools to check backlinks.

    And directory links are generally on PR0 pages, so won't get indexed all that quickly (if at all).

    it might be possible that the links are not yet crawled in google, You need to wait for some time.

    most directory pages,, where your link is submitted...also contains other links..and the problem is all these directory submitters use the same descriptions each time over and over, now the content on that page probably appears on hundreds of other pages in chunks, hense that page is banished into supplemental results, so having a link there is completely worthless, hense it won't show up..check it out by finding a directory page with your link on it and search google for some of the text on that page..

    The only way this can be resolved is if the directory you posted in asks users for a unique description and does not post duplicate descriptions..or that page has enough unique content on it, you can counter this to some degree by using a unique description for each submission...but as we know that can take ages

    I have about 40 sites, all of them submittes to directeries in the last 4 years.
    Most of the links(90%-95%) from web directories have disapeared from my wemaster tool account, few months ago.
    Also all my sites that were promoted only in web directories have lost their rankings.
    Directory submission is almost useless.

    Yes costy81gl at one stage I had 100's if not 1000's of backlinks from directories, now they all have disapeared.
