    google has own algorithm to rank your site and your backlink.
    based my experience, i advise you to continue directory submission work.

    In my experience also, directory links do count. Just make sure they are not your only method.

    Directory Links Definitely count in backlinks, i have experience that in most of my sites.

    Directory links do count, but directory links alone will not count, link diversity is the latest factor, that is need to have links from a wide variety of places
