This is an interesting question to see how web directory owners launch their directories. Did you initially accept free submissions when you launched your directory or was it strictly paid from the start? This is strictly a poll for paid directory owners. As for myself: Fourfind is an exception as it was a free directory that did not have search engine category structure and the categories didn't pass pagerank (permissions issue) until it was revamped by me last April after I purchased it. I gave it TLC when I changed the script, category structure, and design and am looking to get pretty good pagerank for the inner pages as well as the homepage as soon as Google decides it's time for the Q3 update. Your Thoughts...
I sure did! It brings a LOT of traffic to your site when you have 100% free (no-recip reqd) Submission.
yes dear, first we Launce free, if I got 500+ free links from DP then It will paid directory. thanks for nice question poll
Yes for my first directory, then never again. Time is better spent adding sites yourself than sifting through all that spam.
We did a long time ago and 100% its the wrong move for sure for us, better to have a Directory not selling than offering free then moving up to paid There are some great free directories but the successful ones have very shrewd savvy owners
If you have proper weapons to fight with SPAMMERS (nightmare) then its OKAY but who really have all weapons to fight with them?
