Directory Domain [Surchers.com] +Designer Wanted

    I recently picked up the domain name Surchers.com, and I'm thinking of spending a lot of time to turn it into a REALLY good paid directory. What do you think of the name for it though?

    I'm thinking something like Surchers.com - Find What You Need. Something like that. But this is going to be a very serious directory that I'm going to put a lot of time into, so I want the name to be good. Opinions are appreciated.


    Also, if there's any template designers out there that could design an awesome template (I can do it myself but I'm not a professional and time is hard to find when I'm doing a million other things), I'd offer a designed by footer link that would permanently stay there (remember I will get this directory to PR6+ as fast as possible). Plus in the future if I wanted the footer out, I'd pay a couple hundred anyway so you'd get money for the design.


    Just throwing that idea out there, if nobody is interested I can just take a lot of time to make a good one myself :). If you're interested, just send me PM and we'll talk (in advance I'll be wanting to see a "portfolio" of work you've done for directories/design/etc). I am taking this directory very seriously.     I think you should pay now for the design.. It wouldn't be fair what you say imho, cause it would be like paying in a lot of time...

    Surchers.com is just like any other name looks good.

    A designer footer link will be priced around $50 - $80 discount on the template.
    I don’t see you getting a good design only offering the footer link.

    Yeah I would pay for one also, but I would think to some maybe a footer link would be more useful. Say the directory becomes really popular and I'm gettin' tons of uniques and a lot will say "wow this is a really sleek template, I like it", and check out the Designed By: footer link, they could make sales from it which could total much more than $300 I'd pay for one.

    Yes, but it’s unsure that your directory will be popular, so people prefer the money today :).
    Normally on a $350 template you will get around $50 discount for the designer footer link.
