What info would people like to see on the detail pages of a directory other than the usual

    Title
    Description
    URL
    Owner
    Additional links

If the end user has no interest in detail pages then why not remove them?

If you take away the SEO benefit then I see no need to have detail pages.

    Thanks Brian

No seo benefits will be removed

im asking what info you would like

    ie address/contact details etc etc

if you where looking for a website on a directory for say a game would you really care what the pr or alexa of the site is as long as it has the game you want

Possibly Country, not of where the site is based but where the owner is based, you may have a preference for dealing with someone from your home country only.

Your wrong here, website owners don't want to be judged by an alexa rating or PR they count for nothing and are often misleading. They want to sell products not stupid gimmicks. The only one's who care about PR and Alexa are misinformed directory owners and the like.

    To me:

    The location
    Years with an online presence
A short history about their business
Other independent resources to see if they have a good reputation.
    Any awards/membership
Some traffic stats (e.g. # visitors, it helps to know if they have popular site)

I do have other comments, but it more related for a niche directory than for a general directory.

The location/Address as well as Country and Telephone

Will soon be added as this better helps surfers and engines correctly identify the site in question for best results.

Ive alway run into searches where the site in question would have been great but for whatever reasons
deemed was not applicable to my search. I think by adding these fields in the submit form will better help all...

    thx

It's the way to go and what the phpLynx script specializes in malcolm, not trying to take you away from the script your loyal to or anything (not that I could) just saying that this has been the phpLynx model from the beginning. :)

I think that, yes, a screenshot will be good. More description too, because if I am the user, I would want not just a vague description, which most website owners put in. I want to know how it differs from other websites that is listed..

I don't have perms to let you have access to the admin of the demo malcolm or urls of sites who I could use as examples, so have configured the submit page to show you just a few of the fields you can show in your directory, there's more, like fax no etc, you can switch any and all of these on or off as you please via admin. just go to http://www.cantufind.com/demofulldirectory/add_link.html and click on one of the cats til you get to the submit page and you'll see some of the fields. If you have any questions let me know.

I'm off for a snooze, even us humans have to sleep now and again. :D

I saw an example of that and I really like it,

but thing is that since I'm already using phpld it would be easier just to add these extra fields instead of changing to another directory script.

I might start using phplynx for a new project becuase it does have other features not found with phpld.

We've also implimented Google API, forgot to say about that malcolm. The team are doing quite a bit as we speak and I think the model we're about to bring out is gonna be the definate way to go. :)

@mywebsearches; you'd be more than welcome to try us out, we're adding more all the time.
