Add http://www.directorycontest.com to your directory. Either with a regular or a featured listing. Do what you would do with any listing. Don´t optimize your directory for the term ¨directorycontest.com¨. You will be disqualified if you do so.

You are allowed to get incoming links from other sites. No problem with that.

The contest is simple. Just like the directory business is simple. Ask questions regarding the contest on Digitalpoint if you have any.

Every question I get by PM or email will no longer be answered, especially since all of those questions are about trying to find some sort of loophole to optimize a directory for the keyterm.

I´m sorry if things were not perfectly clear to many. But when I have stated that on site optimization is not allowed and that the listing should be treated like any other regular or featured listing, I did believe that that should have been enough.

I do understand you guys all want the prize money. But you won´t get it by cheating. There are more directories on the first 5 pages breaking the rules.

I will not out them until the contest ends. Let them think they are about to win by fooling us.


Guess what ... they won´t.


And Pete: I don´t want or need a panel of judges. I have many great friends like you, Jamey, Phynder who are on my forum with access to the hidden section where sponsors can discuss this contest.

This contest is not perfect, but I am very happy with the way it´s running. So if you guys are not front runners, or are mad because you´re coming in late, just join in and see how far you can get. You have until February 6th.

But What is special on February 6th(It is a day before my 21st birthday)

 

I have a couple of questions ;

1.When you said we are allowed to get incoming links from other sites, I assume that we are not supposed to use directorycontest.com as the anchor text? Since you said we aren't allowed to optimize for that term.

2.On the search results in google, should the URL be the directory's main page or the page of the directory that contains the listing? Is www . xxx . com or www. xxx . com/latestlinks acceptable ?

Instead of www. xxx . xom/page-that-is-listing-directorycontest.com.

 

1. The incoming links from other sites can say ¨The Contest Sucks¨ for all I care. Yes, you can use ¨directorycontest.com¨ as the anchor.

2. Any url from your directory can win, as long as it has to do with the listing. Example
would be details pages, rating pages, etc...

Seems like every directory except Yahoo! and DMOZ is now in it, too.

 

Why did they not enter Blogmaster?

Yahoo! would be all the way up there, but I doubt that DMOZ would be anywhere close to that. 4 years ago sure, these days I doubt it.

 

So who wants to pay the Yahoo $299 fee just to test out how strong it is? Or does directorycontest.com even qualify as a site to be listed, and under what category?

 

Actually, as a non commercial site it should be possible to get it in there for free, correct?

Yep, Amit dirave.com got a warning from Mike here on DP Thread.
But as I mentioned on my blog. I noticed you even since got to know about the sidewide link problem, removed the link in 1hr. But dirave.com didnt but still got warning.
