Directories

I'm new with directories and have a question:

I'm not sure if I'm filling out the forms of directories correctly - for an example, when it says "Reciprocal Link URL:" and I'm choosing the option button "Regular Links" - I'm leaving the "Reciprocal Link URL:" left blank.

I will have to admit that after I submit the link, it does say link submitted and then I get an e-mail that they will review my submission. I guess it all boils down to that these sites never write back saying they accepted my link. I know they will take their time because I don't pay the $19.99 fee nor choose the "Regular Links with Reciprocal" - just the regular links that are free. So, am I expecting to much here - I know they don't have to accept my link - how do you guys do it?

I hope this all makes sense here.

Thats correct if its just a standard regular listing.

Its a free listing so you're not in a position really to expect an approval by a certain time, im still unsure why some submitters expect that.

Even if you pay for a listing theres no guarantee that it gets seen to as quickly as you expect.

Free should not be questioned really, you either take it or pass on it.

If reciprocal URL is mandatory for the directory, most of the times it will inform you about it and won't let the submission through.

Well my friend there are 3 types of DIRECTORY Submissions

1.) FREE ( No money , No reciprocal) - ONE WAY FREE LINK

2.) RECIPROCAL ( FREE no money but requires RECIPROCAL LINK BACK) - TWO WAY LINK FREE

3.) PAID ( Money required) - ONE WAY PAID LINK

Now here is the key think , always have a ONE WAY LINK to your website because that gives you more weightage, One way link occurs when some links back to your website and you dont link back to them.

If you link back to them its not one way any more its called as reciprocal link. Reciprocal link are considered as trade off to increase back links so they carry less weightage

Now that you know you should go for one way links then its your choice whether to go for free one or paid ones

some really good directories provide fast approval for paid links . and if you have patience then wait as free directories takes time for approval which varies from 3 days to 3 weeks upto 3 months

    Hope it helps
