You may buy featured link on WebNetClick Directory i.e. highest traffic rank directory with alexa rank 22k.
I dont see how a featured link could send you some clicks unless the link appears on homepage or somewhere very prominent...It'd be interesting to know what kinda site you're submitting.
For that you may try buying banner ads on a Directory List, this not only will get you more exposure and traffic, it could get you some sales from some SEO looking to submit there sites to rather than buying a featured link on a directory alone.
You can get targeted traffic from web directories although it's not too much, it's absolutely better than traffic from those nonsense sites.
There are a lot of directory lists out there that will let you be listed for free. Here's a thread with a list of them http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1651893 . If I were you I'd start by trying to get listed in some of them (for free or with a reciprocal) and see what type of traffic you get. Then you could try a featured listing for a month or two and see if the traffic is worth the cost.
I believe the directories that have the most users are the Yahoo Directory and OPD. Quite a few people seem to mention botw.org too.
Oh really? Those three directories are in the top 5 directories on the internet and they get good traffic? Thanks for that info, but it was a little obvious... But hey, you still bumped that post count.
