Hi all... I read this Shocking article on Boonex ..its a reputed company in Australia.. Any Truth on what they say ??? http://www.boonex.com/products/barracuda/ here is what they say: What do you all say ?? regards Josh
its irresponsible and attention grabbing threads like this that makes us have to waste our time answering unfounded claims such as these and only on your second post also
There was a tread about this already, weeks or months ago, a reputed company wouldn't shoot itself in the foot, thats the 2nd company selling a script that ive seen commit business suicide.
Boonex sells dating software. I don't know if that had an effect. I don't know much about their software so it couldn't have sold much. It looks like it was more of a link exchange software. If this is the case, Link exchange software has been dead for over a year and it would indeed be old news.
Then now what! so, let's say that is true and now what is the safety way to build a link? Please suggest
No directories do not harm. I submitted to a lot of directories and I'm #1 on google for my keywords.
It's not having a directory script on your site that causes problems with Google. It's the sites that you link to and reciprocate with (in the directory) that cause you problems. A directory script is a nice way to handle linking to other sites. If you only link to sites that are in your niche and that you think will be valuable to your visitors you'll be just fine. People who have got penalties traded reciprocal links with hundreds or thousands of sites that had nothing to do with their niche.
Boonex article is about directories being setup as reciprocal directories within a subdirectory of a website. Sure this one worked really well earlier and it was easy to get 1000s of reciprocal link for the domain quickly if you had a directory somewhere on the domain. After reciprocal link's value was degraded, these directories don't give much return on investment. However, nowadays only niche directories may still work like this. Nothing bad about this article. I am shocked to see people are responding to the thread without bothering to read it properly. There is nothing wrong with directories, they are GOOD, and you should submit to them. But don't waste your time managing a general directory within your site that sells shoes or umbrella.
Directories do not cause harm. Novice bulk submitters/link builders cause harm. There are some directories, like vmoptions.com, that give back to the international community, in the form of donations to support a variety of causes. Success is not measured in profits but in the number of people you help.
It is not about the script, but how people run this script. If you run directory website and do auto approval, it might harm website. Otherwise you will have a good quality directory that will help other people to improve their website popularity.
