No insults are welcomed! This is just a post to start a mature conversation.

First question, if online directories did not exist- how would go about developing link building for your website? Please don't include in your answer: article submission, free classifieds, pay-per-click, news-groups or RSS feeds.

Second, are directories the thing of the future or past? Please give a straight forward answer.

Some directories are a thing of the past, Some directories are a thing of the futuure, The rest are caught up in a time warp here and now wondering which way to go.

I would take magic mushrooms to take me on a path of enlightenment that would give me fantastic visuals, after the trip i would be filled with aewsome content in my mind that i would then put into my websites, it would be irresistible content that would make people link back naturally.

Seen as your requests are so rigid i had to expand some other way, you forced me to. :)

You only want to hear what suits you? or open to wider thoughts that could infact help you?

Let me ask you something, which position did your mom f**k your dad for you to be born. Don't answer: Missionary, Doggy style and any other position.

The keyword is if anyone else have any other secret way of promoting why do you expect them to tell you. Obviously every one want to keep themself to have an edge.

You sound to me like you don't want to submit to directories but still want to promote your sites in a way which is cheap and doable as you don't want pay-per-click.

Mature conversation starts when you ask a mature question but your question is too immature.

Directories depends on which one you talk about .... some are a thing of past including the quick buck directories... Some directories which owners look beyond their imagination and who have a will to make directories will stay for long term.

Majority of them will just get caught up in this google crap and the owners would leave the industry to seek better revenue.

Do not take offense to anything i write as they were not anything against you it was just my reply :)

Also the thread title doesn't match your post razsports, the thread title is clearly an attention grabber to pull the folks in, once baited and inside the question is asking for help but rather rigidly.

Then the second question throws in the thread title just to make it look normal.

I must agree with smub, any fantastic methods for promoting most will quite normally keep to themselves.

You forgot relevant Blogs, and im sure several other things....

That would depend on the directory and its owner...

If he is smart then theirs new technology coming out daily he could use to make his directory
more interesting as well as keeping up with todays fast moving technology boom...

    thx
