Using iWebTool? The backlinks are from MSN and at times they have canonicalization issues. Trying non www versions sometimes gives differing results sometimes.
they base their links off of msn. I have tried to tell everyone that looking at links from yahoo and msn means nothing in the eyes of google or their page rank system. Sure it is great for checking other people's backlinks but those results should not be considered when it comes to future page rank. It may be best to just focuse on the next update and build links for that and then go from there. Longevitity will always win in the end.
I don't rely on iwebtool but I have this stats for Dirsensei which I do have a record of links bought on spreadsheet. 40xPR4 25xPR5 5xPR6 5xPR7 3xPR8 1xPR9 Excludes amount of lower than 4
yea, pay to play. these are directories and directory owners who are investing money into their directories to provide incentive.
Wow, so they goin to get PR6 or 7 caz they did all hard work & they deserve it wish them good luck with their top high rank page directories.
Thanks for including romow.com in this thread. Looks like link building is heating up with the approaching PR update. PR7 is difficult to achieve (let alone maintaining it) as it may involve many different factors other than the sheer volume/strength of backlinks (e.g., authority/age/relevancy of those backlinks). I wouldn't be so agitated about PR7. I'm just happy with how our directory grows, and setting the long term goal accordingly. Anyway, hopefully every directory owner's effort will pay off someday.. If anyone would like to submit to romow.com with Paypal payment, PM me.
Are you serious Jude? @ romow --about the age of links--I have some unanswered questions. We all know now that Terry's Linksjuice achieved PR6 by first update and if you see the domain age it is just few days over 100 days. So when he started it --it was only about a month online and his links must have been few days younger. He still got PR6. And as far as I recall---G updated PR 16 days after BL update. So his links got spidered in 10 days time--got included and got him PR6 Can you answer how this happened?
Let folks from Google give you an answer to the particular case. In fact the same thing happened to one of my directories in early days, so I don't complain about such blessings. As I mentioned, it's combination of different factors, including age/authority/relevancy, and these factors will come into play esp. when one wanna maintain long-term PR and authority power in their directory.
