I agree: usually sites beyond pr6 are quite popular. Usually the main site in their niche and informational as well. Directories in that PR range will have been around a while and will have actual editorial policies.
No need for any editorial policies, it could be real crap content even a blank page if is cached; this is way PR is so deceiving sometimes. You only need link power a PR9 with less than 20 links might be enough to get PR7, or 2-3 PR8 links, in the end is all about link power.
I manually look at the backlinks, no automatic pagerank prediction. And even car ordered it by from lost likely to less likely: PR7 ++++ Directory Dump PR7 +++ eWebpages PR7 ++ Gii PR7 + Romow
PR 6's are much more likely. Even with a few PR 8/ even 9 backlinks I really think people overestimate PR potentials. Optimism is a good thing, and I hope they all get PR7s but think you'll get a mix of PR5s and 1 maybe 2 PR6s out of the lot come the next update. Best of luck.
The same thing they stay in there or go further. Let's put it this way; before we only know of Christian Dior, Ninna Ricci, Guy Laroche etc. in terms of Perfumes but now you have Giorgio Armani, Michael Jordan, Britney Spears, Celine Dion etc. You have a market of choice which were once dominated by a few. It will be a healthy competition as owners know each other and are here in DP. (not including the 90's ) The more high rank directories there will be in the market the better for the subsequent directory owners as they will have relevant links to add their sites and this chain of reaction goes on.
so what exactly do ppl base their predictions on for PR upgrade? Anyhow, even though my sites are doing well, i know i'll still need some time to get them up to PR7. But think they shld be able to challenge for PR7 at the following update.... keeping my fingers crossed
More hoopla than anything else usually. That plus the iwebtool PR predictor that is WAY to liberal with its predictions, but everyone loves to use it instead of the more realistic measures.
No iwebtool , based on experience, PR7 will be a matter of when the google PR snapshot is taken, if not in this update next one if they keep the links. Where you get these "more realistic measures"?
I think next update is not going to update PR of sites updated in last PR update anyways Good Luck and http://www.linksjuice.com may get PR7 also
Well home page PR is only part of the equation. Also I think the market is enough (well at least presently) for everyone BTW: this is my 2,500 post
well these sites are rising to the top ... its the same way they 'll all hit a same pr ... u kno u might say x site is going to hit a PR 10 .... but there is a Y site which is alrdy 10 ... what is goin to happen to tht ... nothing is going to happen its going to stay where it is.... thts all and Ask Congrats on ur posts
