I have owned CannyLink.com for almost 7 years now. The CannyLink directory will be 12 years old in two weeks and still receives paid submissions every day. As the owner of a real directory, I thought you guys may be interested to know what directories I submit a site to. Here you go: First of all, I rarely submit to free directories. CannyLink.com is the only site (of 25 I own) that I pay for the Yahoo directory for. Other directories I submit site to- BOTW.org romow.com dirjournal.com avivadirectory.com Other real directory owners- what do you submit your important sites to?
i will not claim myself be a real or fake directory owner, and i also created a list of quality web directories for my own usage.
"i will not claim myself be a real or fake directory owner" Please understand that I pronounce my directory, cannylink.com as real not to brag, but to try to start drawing the line between traditional directories and the stuff we are bombarded with- directory scripts thrown-up on expired domains. Worth while directories are getting lost in a flood of crap. CannyLink is not as high in quality as the directories I suggested in my post. There are dozens of better ones- but there are not thousands of better ones out there.
All of my sites are important to me and therefore I do not put limitations on which directories I submit them to. If I submit a site to one then I will most likely submit all of them. If you did this then you would see better results for all of your sites.
I also Wants to add one Good Directory for Fastest Approval Directory for Paid Member and it's also run since 2007 and it's generate Good Backlinks for your site as well v7n directory vmoptions directory seofriendlydirectory4u.com This are very good paid directory it's will give you some good back links in Google as well.
Some of my personal favorites can be found at: http://www.vmoptions.com/paid-directory-list.php It's not a user submitted list - Just some of my favorites.
My directory is pr4 and 3 years old, and I only charge $2.99 for featured links, however I only got around 3-6 paid submissions per month. Your directory is only pr3 and get paid submissions every day, how did you do that?
Marketing, good customer service, and the site has a 12 year history and some "brand" recognition. Never claimed that this directory is in the upper crust of top high quality directories, but it does a decent business. huanghh- I do not know your directory but it may have potential if you know, or learn ways to market it. I don't have all of the answers, I only know that what I do works for me. I don't have time to mentor you but I'm not keeping secrets. Follow my posts if you find them helpful.
Look at the directories he promotes his site on. Where do you promote your directory? Advertising makes a huge difference in submissions. It does not matter that your directory is PR4 if nobody can find it. I would rather submit to a well promoted PR0 than a PR4 with an owner that does nothing to get visitors to my site.
Those "in the know" do not always let the green bar guide them. @ hotftuna Your directory has been added to my paid directory list. It certainly qualifies to be there.
PR4 sounds nice, but there are lot of factors before someone submit their site to your directory, such as traffic, SERPs and authority.
Thank you snowbird. "My directory is pr4 and 3 years old, and I only charge $2.99 for featured links, however I only got around 3-6 paid submissions per month" huanghh: your statement does not surprise me. I would encourage you to find a way to make your directory work (by work I mean be profitable and provide a good service to your customers at a fair price). Never seen your directory but you say that it is PR4 (rather not mention PR but it is a factor), it is 3 years old, and you get 3-6 paid submission/month. Those are all good things! Assuming the directory looks good, and is of reasonable quality, I can tell you one way that you can increase business. Chances are that this method will not be practical for you and I am just telling you about it to make a point and give you ideas- What if your purchased an expensive directory that had a paying customer base. You then suggest a submission to the 3 year old directory every time someone pays at the expensive directory. Do you think that would work? You bet it would!
I NEVER ask you for a critique/review my directory, or even tell me how to do, so better to keep your ball away.
"I NEVER ask you for a critique/review my directory, or even tell me how" WallaceYeung- Very very sorry
My fiance owns several directories but the best one of the lot is mishre.com as it gets listings almost every day. I too have started a directory (you can see it in my signature) but it just its PR recently so I don't think its worth bragging about it yet.
