Directories submission for backlinks

After submitting to the directories..the links from the site will become backlinks to our site..is it..and how many days it takes for backlinks..

 

depends on how fast Google and Yahoo index that site

 

It depends how fast you will be approved in the directory itself
then only when google crawls it

 

depend on how fast the directory owner approve your submision as well. some take days but some takes weeks even months.

 

As soon as the dir. approves your link and search engines crawl it.

Takes acceptance of link, link to be on an indexed page, page to be crawled to find your new link.

 

If you are submitting to high PR directories, inner pages (and latest link page) will get indexed faster but they might take time in approving the links. At the same time, new directories approve links much faster but SEs take time in indexing them.

I normally see 20+ links from 100 submissions after 4-5 weeks.

 

Does anyone keep track of their submissions? I haven't kept track of mine, I think I might have put my link in to 20 or so sites for submission.

I'd hate to give them free traffic waiting for them to approve, especially if they forget!

 

Almost everyone should be using some way of tracking their submissions. You can use an excel sheet. I use a script I wrote for this (my SIG has the link)

Are you talking about reciprocal links? I wonder why people do reciprocal submissions now.
