Here's an interesting concept that I hadn't thought of after someone asked me that question the other day and I didn't know the answer. If a site that is banned and has been removed from the Google Index gets their listing approved by a directory, is it possible for a directory to get dropped from the index for approving their listing and linking to them? If that's the case it would only make it that much more difficult to really evaluate not just the site that's applying for the listing, but also whether or not it's also been removed due to a penalty. If you unknowingly link to a few bad neighbourhoods I think you should be ok, it's when you begin to link to ALOT of crap when you start raising red flags.
yea a few links here and there you should be alright. If it gets to the point where you're linking to a lot of bad neighborhoods then watch out. Same thing if you're doing a site wide link w/ that banned site.
No way. After all it's not your fault. But many bad links will certainly hurt you. 1-2 wil not for sure.
Well i think good rule of thumb would be to submit or allow a site that has atleast pr 1 , this way you can be sure its not black listed .
