I recently submitted my site to over 200 free directories, that was about a week ago and I have not seen really any results. I know this is probably due to me having to wait until my links are approved; however, I also know I have been listed in some and they are not showing up as being linked to my site. I'm guess it is probably because the page that my link is on has not yet been crawled by a search engine. I was wondering if it would be beneficial to add some links from my site to the page of the directory that I'm linked on in order to coax the spyders into crawling their page through my page. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, does anyone have any suggestions or any idea when I should start seeing results from submitting to all those directories. Thanks for the help everyone.
Sometimes it does take a bit before the backlinks show up. And then, a lot of directories use the no-follow attribute for free links. I do believe that directories that use this should state somewhere that hey, you put in a free submission, guess what? no-follow.
