> A question for you? > Why should anybody be linking to your other web directories when it is > from same IP(C) and as per Google it seems link farming?
Well that does not mean it's a link farm by any means having links from the same IP class. As far as links from the same IP class the conventional wisdom is that it's really not going to be counted as much. Link farms are uncategorized links, spam, dribble. That aside, if the links are from heavily thematic pages or heavy PR from the same IP class it might very well be worthwhile.
Yeah, I don't think this is anywhere near link farming. I really think the "Class-C" crap is way overblown.
Yup it's not even close. Absolutely. People forget that there are 1) More search engines out there 2) Human traffic (especially directory sections of directories) 3) This is an overamplified half assed rumor that even if were in play by Google it still might pass PR just not help in serps.
The IP isn't even an issue here. Websites that run on shared hosting plans have the the same IP, and you could have easily more then 300 websites running directories of their own using the same IP address without a single one of them being a Link farm. That said, what you should be on the look for is directories who share their database.
