directories for traffic

Are there any directories that you have tried and actually bring some traffic back to you? I am asking only for traffic don't care for PR.

I am listed here deep inside ( http://www.searchenginecolossus.com/India.html) --but it has been sending me more than one visitor per day. I am not sure though if you call it a directory.

My goal is now to increase traffic to all of my directories. www.frogengine.com has pretty good rankings for a few categories in Google and gets hits this way, but still have a long way to go to make it something people actually use and come back to to find whatever they´re looking for.

 

Directories send 200 hits per month to mine

But that's not the most important reason to submit sites to directory

If you own a directory I don't think that traffic is your first goal. You are trying to reach webmasters and all you need is to find some to submit their sites. It's better to have 100 visits/day with 50 submissions, than 1000 visits/day with 20 submissions. If you have a different kind of site that needs traffic then you can still subscribe to directories and get some traffic for a very small price (if not free). You don't have to lose anything. Of course other forms of advertising will bring you better results, but of course they cost a lot more.
