Like I said banless whatever they feel they can do it. Its up to their individual approach to business perspective.

OK I will give you an example. Mystikmedia has a new site that everyone knows and he's marketing it at every promotion he can. Why ? Is he doing it in slow approach or is he marketing it aggressively at any chance he can get.

Evryone goes to submit their sites to PR0 at every chance you can get. That is already considered marketing your site aggresively. If you want to grow at slow pace then market your site just once a month or twice a week then we can see the returns or results.

OTOH business is like shooting at the stars. You never know what is the outcome and you give it your best shot. Win or Lose that is its very essence of foundation that is why its Business.

first comes first served. business is all about competition, so speed is one of the important elements. But as I said, well planned strategies should go with the speed. Otherwise you will only fail, and when you go fast and fail, it will hurt a lot.

I don't know really. Both methods seem to work if you do them right.

Some of my backlinks I purchase or submitted have expired from a year ago. We are given about two months to make as much BL as we can till the next update. To those with the cash flow will be rewarded hard and those with limited funds wont be rewarded as much or worked really hard on getting free links to make up for the lack-off. It's a marathon of link building.

I agree that its a race.. constantly getting links to ensure the submitters get what they paid for. Good quality links.

I was just thinking about how to populate my directory even further and make it even better.

Any directory owners care to share ideas or even think about joint venture?

Exactly, a lot of people here have seo tunnel vision and everything they do depends on the search engines. But in reality there are tons of people out there making millions without the search engines.

if someone asked me the question i'd say grow steadily because than the growth is sustainable, a sudden growth which is outside the limit is not sustainable or so i learned in my economic class when you try to produce more than u can, so its good to grow slowly.

Pretty much on the money with those comments as some people chase the SEO Route and then some chase the Green $$$$$$$$$$ Route

The reality is both routes have to bring in revenue $$$$$ or your efforts are wasted

I think slow or fast. Either one can be productive and profitable as long as your expectations are reasonable AND you have a long term battle plan. But what the hell do I know, I haven't even been through my 1st PR update yet.

I'm personally taking a 3 tiered approach to marketing. Phase 1 almost over with, we'll see what the future holds. One thing I am certain of is that so far it has been totally successful. I'm already getting tons of natural traffic from organic, not directory specific (eg. "powered by" or submit.php), key phrases.
