Selling links and ad space does not mean a drop in PR. I clearly state my advertising and link selling on my site and just got an increase in my PR by 1.

It's others on the web deliberately making stuff up - trying to put others down. The update isn't over as soon as you get your PR, Google tends to shuffle the toolbar PR a bit before it settles, so keep watching.

im happy my bidding directory has kept its pr

and has also never been penalized in 12months

but then its no-follow only and that unfortunatly is the way that directories are going.

I only had PR3 for a year or so but it never stopped people listing with me, its what you sell and how you manage it which does the trick not the Pr.

The "ripple effect" on those of us who had links from directories with good PR will be felt, as the PR of those directory links declines.

This reinforces the need to have a broad-based linking strategy that includes, but is not top-heavy with, directory submissions.

I noticed some internal pages of kahuki lost quite high pr though.

This is a good tool, I found 100% accurate to check all of your pages
    http://www.rightscripts.com/pagerank/

It's interesting how pr is distributed, on my new directory one sub-sub-category got pr1 and one Listing Details page did too.

Yes, I noticed that too. Seems the script you mentioned is not working anymore - it does not show any PR.

It takes a long time to load, open it in a new tab or browser enter your url and wait patiently until it finishes loading, nothing seems to happen as it shows no progress bar. It took about 10 minutes for me.

Yes, I visited the link you gave us and it took more than twenty minutes for it to "index" my site, without bringing up a single PR for any page. It spat out .xml, .js and favicon.ico files. What have these file formats got to do with PageRank?

    Hello...

Well we didnt see any changes whatsoever so no biggie :)

We still get tons of submissions with or without PR and our editors
still make a nice bi-weekly pay check :D

Just don't give up hope. However, you may need to to take a closer look at your sites and overhaul them.

I didn't drop any PR but some inner pages that were supposed to get ranked missed out, and I've just spotted duplicate titles on some product details pages and the items' larger photos' pages. I have to tidy them up right away!
