Directories and Link Building

I've got a few hundred bucks to spend on building links to my site, and I've got a few questions regarding directories and link building.
    1. Is submitting to directories still worth it?
    2. Are free or paid directories the way to go?
    3. Are there any reputable DP members you have dealt with in the past that can submit my site for me?
    4. Do you have to worry about getting penalized in google for having so many directory links pointing to your site overnight?

I'm no SEO expert, but I'd be more concerned with getting links from other sites in your niche...

I've submitted to many free directories. I'm not sure if it's helped my site or not yet. I have found that link exchange works much better.

It depends on the quality of directories. If directories is consist of quality links then its worth.

I'll better go for free quality directories

I don't think submission to many directories in a day can cause your site being penalized because as far as I know not all directories that you have been submitted your site can approved all of that unless you buy 1000 links in 1000 different directories. I think that could cause you being penalized by google.

It depends on how relevant the directories are to the niche/category of the site you're building links for.

A better way of building links is submitting quasi-original (original enough for submission purposes) to article sites. 1 site = 1 article. Many people submit the SAME article to many sites. Not a good move.

The best way is to have blogs and other sites publish your COMPLETELY original materials in exchange for a backlink.

PM me if you need any other advice.

paid directory submission works well as they often Have more strength themselves, and will pass better links juice to your site. Try find niche directories that are related to your site.

And no, directory links cannot hurt you as if they did, you could down rank your competitirs by link building for them

Paid and Free Directories are helpful as long as they good ones. Blogging also help a lot.
Link Building via related niched Forum ( Signature Links) with doFollow also helps.
So there are many link development programs that you can look over and decide to go for it.

Actually, I have a link to a software in my sig that will seek out blogs that don't carry the "no follow" attributes, and find blogs based on keyword input which will target your links much better for you, if your into that. It will definitely help your SEO and traffic to your site.

    Cheers

Agree, I am doing for that now, but it is difficult to get link into higher PR.
As long as I know that high PR site have their own minimum requirement PR to be accepted as their partner.

So, how about if i build link with higher PR but their content is not relate to my site, is there any benefit impact or useless?

Because LE instantly give you backlink, and directories submitting give you backlinks when you're approved! (you have to wait...)

    1. Yes, still worth! Page rank of each directory is at least 1...
    2. I prefer the free than the paid. I can get thousands of backlinks from the free.
    3. You can search them at this forum yourself. You need to pay attention to their iTrade.
    4. I suggest ... max 25 links per day in order to ensure your site to be index by search engines. For example: ff you want 1,000 backlinks - mean... 1,000 / 25 = 40 days.

I still choose a one way free directory I manual submissions instead of automatic. Why I use that? its becuase it is risk free, no money involve and you don't have to pay to gain back links.

Directories are still valid source of traffic and rankings boost, just look for the high quality directories.. The ones that seem to have a purpose... Stay away from the junky directories that have been built only to sell listings...
