Direct Mail Marketing to reach teenagers

How would you go about reaching teenagers through direct mail marketing? This is for an educational website so I'm counting on them passing the information on to their teenagers. What criteria would you use to select the parents? Do you think this would work?

I doubt you'd get very good results. The reason is because of my knee-jerk response to your headline: teenagers don't read!

Well, they don't read print much anyway. I think you are better off devoting those resources to PPC and SEO.

Just my opinion... and the opinion of the teenager in my house. I've never seen him hold a book!

It would be directed toward the parents... and just have the parent put the postcard or whatever in front of the kids desk

Yeah... Maybe you should consider who your most attractive demographic is first? How many kids are interested in Education, seriously?

You can even select their teachers and career councellors as well, I dont think the teenager listen more their parents these days.

    Hey buddy

I'm interested in joining a Joint Venture with yourself. I run a boaridng website (http://mynewboard.com) and have the best idea for getting them to read what we want them to.

Email me if you're interested in this Join Venture to squeeze as much as we can out of your list members!

    Thanks

Teenagers have parents? I thought they were just hatched that way.

Serriously, target the parrents and get some interest but not much follow-through. Target the teachers and get a similar result.

    Target the teens through mySpace.

Its a hit or a miss....most of the e-mail marketing is considered spam.

Dont spend too much on it, not really worth a lot...

however, if its coming cheap no harm in giving it a shot...first time lucky ;)
