Hi, just want to ask if it is ok to link directly to Merchant's website using Adwords. For Example: URL = http://www.cj-affiliate-link.com Landing Page = http://www.merchant.com/product.html Is this allowed? And also how can I improve Quality Score? Please help, Thanks!
Read before deciding to link. the fine prints can be tricky. Usually, we tend to rush and think that they are all similar.
Well according to the new google adword TOS, your display URL and the destination url has to be the same domain. So If your display Url is - www.yourdomain.com and your destination url is www.marchant.com/product.html then it will be against the TOS. And if you directly put your marchant's url in place of the display URL then you may be violating the terms of the merchant. Best way is to make your own landing page and use your own domain. Ofcourse there is one way to overcome this problem but its not 'suggested' so I wont write it in this public forum. For Improving your Quality Score: 1. Emphasize on your Ad Copy -- Higher the CTR, the Better your QS will be. 2. Emphasize on your Landing Page - Title, Heading, Body should have your keywords that you are bidding on. 3. Include Privacy Policy, Contact information in your landing page. These are just some of the basics. Hope this helps.
Yeah, but why would that need to be your destination URL? Your display URL and your destination URL can be entirely different than the URL you enter for your ad, if it is in fact a link that redirects to a different page. In which case the DESTINATION URL is considered, not the affiliate link that got them there. In other words, if the merchant is cheapshoes.com, then my display URL could be cheapshoes.com, while the actual URL I'd use for the ad would be cheapshoes.com/aff-ID=12345. The user would still end up at cheapshoes.com as the destination URL. Short answer: It is fine on Google's end. Different advertisers may have different terms.
