Hi since there is alot of ugly landing pages i have decides to start linking directly to checkout page but i have searched google and found this post: Aahhh, the risks you take to make a few extra bucks Other than that, this whole technique is against ClickBank’s TOS, so if you get caught you get banned. The only way to stay inline with their TOS is to use a good old hoplink. Code (markup): this is the original post is that true ? and anybody here doing that without being caught?
What is against CB's TOS is linking directly to the payment processing page and putting the vendor's sales page out of the loop. You can direct link to the product page u wish to promote using your affiliate link.
The problem is the following, you can link to the vendor payment page directly, however, this way, you don't set a cookie, and you don't override a previous cookie, so if the customer previously visited the page using another hoplink from another aff, the other affiliate that directed him to that page gets the sale, not you (even though you sent him to the checkout page). There is a workaround for this, and that is to plant a cookie after the user has clicked your link that redirects to the checkout page, however, this is against CB rules, since they do not allow cookie stuffing.
just checking is a 301 re-direct to a landing page fine? or a 301 re-direct to a hoplink url code? thanks
i create the hoplink from the vendors affiliate section can i then do a re-direct to that hoplink? e.g fredlikesbiscuits.gh.com 301 re-direct to the hoplink url is that allowed? or frowned upon? or no one will bother to worry?
The cookie issue above is the big downside. If they don't purchase the first time then you wont get credit because its not going to set the cookie. I've never heard of it being against TOS but I would imagine if you're making false claims and getting the publisher a lot of chargebacks he will contact CB and ask them to have you stop promoting.
The Problem is that i have to force cookies in the customer's browser to get commission and thats what against CB TOS this is a big problem because some of publisher's landing page SUCKS and i dont thinks they gonna convert
