I thought there is no way you can get a direct link from twitter page. Here what I just found: http://twitter.com/sthlmtjejer can anybody explain why is that? Usually the link is shortened like through TinyURL or similar services. Thanks!
I think the links are usually just shortened so they don't go over the 140 character maximum... If your post is short then you can easily just use the full URL.
Yeah, that is pretty much the reasoning! I deep-link my pages, so the URL's are longer, so Twitter automatically shortens them!
If you want to short your url at the time of tweeting the install Tweet Deck. It will short your url and you will get more space for your tweet.
Is that not a twitter user id? I feel that is an id of some twitter user as it always comes as twitter.com/------ Inside the twitter, we can be able to submit the shorten links to submit.
I always shorten them first myself. I use bit.ly so then I can track where the clicks are coming from.
