Hi, I plan on buying a free image hosting site. I am wondering how much traffic should I expect to have if I buy some dp signatures and put my domain and services in it. I have around a 100/month budget on this, and I feel after looking around, I can can a members with 1000 posts signature spot for 3-3/month. This is about 30 spots times 1000 posts. That's 30,000 posts my services will be on. Should I expect any kind of seo increase or any new people to my site buying this many sigs. in bulk? Wouldn't you think user's on dp would go for a nice, free image/file uploading site where no user sign-up is required. Also, what is the best way to promote a free image/file hosting site. I have no idea how to, and seo is hard to beat as photobucket and flickr dominate everything. -Joe
I don't think you'll earn $100/month with a free image hosting website, especially if you are planning on making money with PPC ads like Adsense. So, spending $100/month might not be a very good idea.
An image hosting website is hard to make a good income with. There are already so many good free image hosters. Most poeple on DP already have a trusted image host. Good luck though.
Yeah you should expect some higher SEO from having your site in forum signatures for sure, it's a good choice.
DP signature is one of the best signature, i can say you will get about 20 UV per days, not so many. DP signature helps much in SEO than traffic
I really don't get any clickthroughs from signature advertising here unless it is something really unique and eye catching. It is however good link juice to get your site indexed rather quickly.
People here already have a favourite image host as Dukeofism said. You'll need to come up with something really good and unique to make them shift, if you're relying on traffic from siggies.
I remember i used to have one of my sites in my signature and i would get a few clicks, but defiantly nothing to rely on. You should look into other methods of promoting your image hosting site - most can be free too.
From my experience it would not help a lot. You would get better results if you hire some people to post for you with accounts created on different forums.
The free image hosting niche is so filled up right now. The big boys (TinyPic, Photobucket,Imageshack, etc) are making most of the money, and users are going to sites they know are safe and are reliable. You'll need to do a lot of work to make a minimum amount of money. Don't rely on your signature, but every little bit will help.
