Actually the links you are using are related to Cancer which is a completely different niche. If you want to get traffic to your site through DP, be more active here and link to some webmaster resource in your Sig. It will get much more 'targetted' traffic and users.
what this wonderful forum does to me is that i regularly visit this forum and gain immensly from its experienced webmaster community, then apply their inputs in my blogs, then see positive results, that the way how i look at this fantastic educative forum
I've leased out most of my sig links, but when I was using them for my own links, I found that traffic really depended on how the link was worded, and how 'webmastery' it was - you need to market with your links, really - very few people will click a link that doesn't interest them 'just because they liked your post'. Give it time, though - get some more posts under your belt, and maybe experiment with coloured text, etc, to make your sig links stand out?
Summed it up nicely. Also I think people say sig links on DP get you traffic because they are adding to your SEO. Basically DP gets a lot of visits from google, and hence the more sig links you have the better your rankings etc. It isn't just referring to traffic generated from clicks on the forums. Atleast that's how I look at it.
